In 2018, the National Agency of Drug and Food Control (Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan– “ BPOM ”) issued Regulation No. 22 of 2018 (“ Regulation 22/2018 ”) on Guidelines for the Issuance of Processed Food Manufacturing Certificates for Household Industries (Sertifikat Produksi Pangan Industri Rumah Tangga– “ SPP-IRT ”). However, in an effort to ensure that the applicable framework for the issuance of SPP-IRT is in line with current technological and legal requirements, BPOM has now decided to update the applicable framework for the issuance of SPP-IRT through the introduction of Regulation No. 4 of 2024 (“ Regulation 4/2024 ”), which bears the same title as Regulation 22/2018 and has been in force since 16 February 2024.
