New Guidelines on Coal and Mineral Mining Reclamations and Post-Mining Work Introduced: Marine Reclamations Now Detailed, Deadlines Revised

In an effort to ensure that nationally standardized and accountable reclamation and post-mining work are carried out in the wake of mineral and coal mining operations, including the reopening of reclaimed areas, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (“ Minister ”) has decided to publish a new set of guidelines that address the implementation of reclamation and post-mining work after the completion of mineral and coal mining business activities (“ Guidelines ”) through the issuance of Decree No. 344.K/MB.01/MEM.B/2025 (“ Decree 344/2025 ”), which has been in force since 23 October 2025.
