New Mandatory Partnership Standards: Platforms Required to Formalize Agreements and Slash Service Fees for Local UMK Products

The Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (“ Minister ”) has issued Regulation No. 3 of 2026 on the Protection and Enhanced Competitiveness of Micro and Small Enterprises (Usaha Mikro dan Kecil– “ UMK ”) Through Trade Through Electronic Systems (“ Regulation 3/2026 ”) as the primary legal framework that will be applied in order to safeguard the rights of UMK that operate within the Electronic Commerce (Perdagangan Melalui Sistem Elektronik– “ PMSE ”) ecosystem. [1] This Regulation will now serve as a key reference for use by the central government, regional governments, Electronic Commerce Operators (Penyelenggara PMSE– “ PPMSE ”) and UMK in relation to the implementation and governance of digital partnership arrangements.
