New Mechanism for Investigations of Intellectual Property Crimes Introduced

In an effort to establish a legal basis for civil service investigators (Penyidik Pegawai Negeri Sipil/PPNS) operating within the intellectual property (“ IP ”) sector (“ Investigators ”) as regards the carrying out of their duties, the Minister of Law and Human Rights (“ Minister ”) has issued Regulation No. 1 of 2023 on the Management of Investigations into Criminal Acts Within the Intellectual Property Sector (“ Regulation 1/2023 ”), [1] which has been in force since 6 January 2023.
