New Mining Compliance Mandate Introduced: Expanded Corporate Responsibility Obligations and Accelerated Revocation Mechanisms

The Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (“ Minister ”) has officially enacted Regulation No. 4 of 2026 (“ Amendment ”) on the Amendment to Regulation No. 4 of 2025 on the Verification of Small and Medium Enterprises Applying for Metal Mineral and Coal Mining Business License Areas Through Priority Granting (“ Regulation 4/2025 ”), which streamlines administrative verification procedures and heavily expands the operational and budgeting requirements that must be met by small and medium enterprises that are applying for priority mining business license areas.
