In 2007, the Minister of Finance (“ Minister ”) issued Regulation No. 101 of 2007 on Import-Duty Exemptions for Equipment and Materials Used to Prevent Environmental Pollution (‘ Regulation 101/2007 ”). As its title suggests, this Regulation sets out various import-duty exemptions that are available for equipment and materials that are used to prevent or control environmental pollution (collectively referred to as “ Goods ”). However, in an effort to encourage technological advances, streamline business processes related to the importation of Goods and ensure greater legal certainty in terms of customs treatments for relevant business entities, the Minister has now issued Regulation No. 32 of 2024 (“ Regulation 32/2024 ”), which bears the same title as Regulation 101/2007.
