New Provisions on Sponsorship for Health Workers

The Ministry of Health(“Ministry”)has issued Regulation No. 58 of 2016 on Sponsorship for Health Workers(“Regulation 58/2016”)in order to ensure that health workers to have greater opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills without their independence as regards the provision of health services ultimately being affected. [1] In order to implement this objective, Regulation 58/2016 sets out a number of guidelines which encompass support for health workers,as provided by pharmaceutical, medical-device and laboratory-equipment companies, and/or other companies (“Sponsorship”).
