New Provisions on the Implementation of Emissions Testing for Motor Vehicles in the Jakarta Area Introduced

The Governor of the Special Capital Region of Jakarta (“ Governor ”) recently issued Regulation of the Governor No. 66 of 2020 on Gas Emissions Testing for Motor Vehicles (“ Regulation 66/2020 ”) in an effort to adjust to the provisions set out under Law No. 22 of 2009 on Traffic and Road Transportation, as well as Law No. 23 of 2014 on Regional Government. As a result, the previous framework of Regulation of the Government No. 92 of 2007 on Emissions Testing and the Maintenance of Motor Vehicles (“ Regulation 92/2007 ”) has now been repealed and replaced.
