New Regulation on Ability Surveys for Reconditioning and Remanufacturing Companies

In a bid to ensure that imported used capital goods (Barang Modal Dalam Keadaan Tidak Baru– “ BMTB ”) can be fully optimized for the development of domestic industries, the Minister of Industry (“ Minister ”) has issued Regulation of the Minister No. 16 of 2019 on Guidelines for the Implementation of Surveys of Abilities of Reconditioning Companies and Remanufacturing Companies in Relation to Imports of Used Capital Goods (“ Regulation 16/2019 ”). Regulation 16/2019 requires all reconditioning and remanufacturing companies to undergo assessments of their abilities to utilize BMTB (“ Ability Surveys ”). [1]
