As both Regulation of the Government No. 36 of 2021 on Wages (“ Regulation 36/2021 ”) [1] and Regulation of the Minister of Manpower (“ Minister ”) No. 6 of 2016 (“ Regulation 6/2021 ”) [2] on the Religious Holiday Allowance (Tunjangan Hari Raya –“ THR ”) for Employees/Laborers (collectively referred to as “ Workers ”) Working for Companies mandates that THR should be paid to Workers in order to fulfill their needs during religious holidays, the Minister has now decided to set out an applicable mechanism for THR payments during 2024 through the issuance of Circular No. M/2/HK.04/III/2024 (“ Circular 2/2024 ”), which has been in force since 15 March 2024.
