The most recent version of the Draft Bill on Citizenship has been approved by the Working Team (Panja) and awaits the signatures of the Government and the House of Representatives (DPR). There have been a number of significant changes from earlier drafts that more accurately reflect the needs of cross-nationality couples and their offspring (see e-alert 11/2/2004). Nevertheless, the Draft does not contemplate dual citizenship and will still require choices to be made for both the parents and their children.
