P2P Lending Expanded: Government Securities Role Added, Existing Funding Agreements Must Conform by 31 January 2026

Towards the end of 2024, the Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan– “ OJK ”) issued Regulation No. 40 of 2024 (“ Regulation 40/2024 ”) on Information Technology-Based Joint-Funding Services (Layanan Pendanaan bersama Berbasis Teknologi Informasi– “ P2P Lending ”), which, as its title suggests, sets out various provisions that specifically address the organization of P2P Lending services. Among other areas, Regulation 40/2024 broadly addresses the various requirements that are required to be met by organizers of P2P Lending services (“ Organizers ”) in relation to their business activities, as well as the distribution of their funds.
