Paperless Patent Administration Incoming: Mandatory Independent E-Certificate Retrieval Established for All Patent Applicants and Appointed IP Consultants

The Director General of Intellectual Property (“ Director General ”) has issued Circular No. HKI-14.KI.05.02 of 2026 on Electronic Patent Certificates (“ Circular 14/2026 ”), which updates the patent administration framework by implementing electronic patent certificates through the Intellectual Property Administration System (Sistem Administrasi Kekayaan Intelektual– “ SAKI ”). [1] Under Circular 14/2026, patent applicants and appointed intellectual property consultants are required to independently download patent certificates through SAKI. [2]
