In 2024, the Indonesian Government regulated the obligation to protect children who are active in digital spaces through existing Laws on electronic systems. This involved the introduction ofa second amendment to Law No. 11 of 2008 on Information and Electronic Transactions (“ Law 11/2008 ”) through the issuance of Law No. 1 of 2024 (“ Second Amendment ”).In the wake of the introduction of this framework, Electronic System Providers (Penyelenggara Sistem Elektronik– “ PSE ”) are now required to ensure that all children who use or have access to electronic systems (“ Systems ”) are protected.
