In an effort to support postal service operations that are effective, efficient and competitive, as well as to ensure adequate levels of consumer protection, the Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs (“ Minister ”) recently issued Regulation No. 8 of 2025 on Commercial Postal Services (“ Regulation 8/2025 ”), which has been in force since 14 May 2025. [1] The Minister has also issued a statement affirming that the issuance of Regulation 8/2025 represents an effort to boost the accessibility of logistics services within remote areas of the country. [2] In this regard, the Minister expects collaborations to be initiated by prominent industry players over the next year and a half so that the services they provide will ultimately be available across 50% of Indonesian provinces. [3]
