Presidential Directive to Support Coal Mining Activities

Presidential Directive No. 1 of 2012 on Implementing and Monitoring Coal Mining Business Activities (“Presidential Directive”) was issued to provide legal certainty for coal mining businesses based on Coal Mining Business Permits (IUP Batubara) and Coal Mining Work Agreements (PKP2B). The overarching objective of the Presidential Directive is to achieve national energy security and accelerate economic development.
