Procedures and Mechanisms for the Prevention of Land Cases Set for Introduction: Three-Phase Prevention Measures to Be Enforced

The Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (“ Minister ”) previously introduced Regulation No. 21 of 2020 on the Handling and Settlement of Land Cases (“ Regulation 21/2020 ”) in 2020 [1] and is currently preparing a new Draft Regulation on the Prevention of Land Cases (“ Draft Regulation ”). As its title suggests, the Draft Regulation will introduce further measures aimed at the prevention and minimization of land-related disputes, conflicts and/or crimes (collectively referred to as “ Land Cases ”) [2] and will hopefully ensure greater legal certainty as regards the possession and utilization of land.
