Procedures for the Release of Converted Areas of Production Forest Re-Regulated

The Minister of Environment and Forestry (“Minister”) has issued regulation No. P.51/MENLHK/SETJEN/KUM.1/6/2016 on Procedures for the Release of Converted Areas of Production Forest (“2016 Regulation”).The 2016 Regulation aims to set out further provisions on procedures for the release of forest areas classified as Convertible Production-Forest Areas (Hutan Produksi yang dapat Dikonversi/”HPK”) which can be utilized for non-forestry activity, as mandated by Government Regulation No. 104 of 2015 on Procedures for Altering the Designation and Function of Forest Areas (“2015 Regulation”).
