Process for the Registration of International Halal Certification Introduced

The Head of the Halal Product Guarantee Agency (Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Produk Halal– “ BPJPH ”) recently issued Decree No. 90 of 2023 on the Procedure for the Implementation of the Registration Service for International Halal Certification (“ Decree 90/2023 ”), which has been in force since 15 November 2023 and which sets out the procedure for the mandatory BPJPH registration of foreign halal products (“ Products ”), as certified halal by foreign halal agencies (“ Agencies ”), that have entered into cooperation relating to the mutual recognition of certificates prior to the distribution of products within Indonesia.
