The Director General of Customs and Excise (“Director General”) has issued Regulation No. PER-02/BC/2017 on Guidelines for the Importation of Consignments (“Regulation 2/2017”)in order to improve services and supervision within this sector of the economy. [1] With this objective in mind, Regulation 2/2017 sets out a number of updated guidelines for the importation of consignments, which were previously regulated under the following regulations (collectively referred to as “Previous Regulations”):
