Publishers Rights Compliance Supervision Mechanism Unveiled: Digital Platform Companies, Take Notes!

Regulation of the President No. 32 of 2024 on the Responsibility of Digital Platform Companies(“to Support Quality Journalism (“ Regulation 32/2024 ”) officially came into force on 20 August 2024 and broadly addresses the responsibility of Companies to support quality journalism and to ensure that any news that they present through their platforms comprises high-quality journalistic work. In this regard, it should be noted that various aspects of the above obligations, as featured under the new framework of Regulation 32/2024, were previously analyzed in the following edition of Indonesian Legal Brief (“ ILB ”): “ Regulation on Publishers’ Rights Issued: A Blueprint for Fair Digital Journalism in Indonesia ”.
