The Financial Sector Policy Package issued in July 2006 mandated greater harmony and legal certainty of laws and regulations within the finance sector. One of these required the Capital Market Supervisory Agency and Financial Institutions (Bapepam-LK) to issue a new rule to govern repurchase agreements (Repo) that use a master repurchasing agreement (MRA). This new rule was issued on 28 November 2006 as RuleNo. VIII.G.13(Rule G.13).
