Revised Carbon Trading Rules Introduced: SRUK to Replace SRN PPI, Sustainability Governance of Exchange Users Now Subject to OJK Oversight

The Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan– “ OJK ”) has issued Regulation No. 10 of 2026 (“ Amendment ”), which amends Regulation of the OJK No. 14 of 2023 on Carbon Trading Through Carbon Exchanges (“ Regulation 14/2023 ”). Broadly speaking, the Amendment revises and restructures the various trading requirements and registry mechanisms that apply to carbon units. Furthermore, the Amendment mandates supervision of the sustainability governance practices of all participants who are actively engaging in carbon trading activities.
