Sea Security Coordination Authority

The Government has issued Presidential RegulationNo. 81 of 2005(the “Regulation”) to ensure that there is adequate, effective, and efficient coordination between the relevant government agencies responsible for sea security issues. The Sea Security Coordination Agency was previously regulated under a Joint Decision of the Ministers of Defense and Security, Transportation, Finance, and Justice, as well as the Attorney General (the “Joint Decision”) from 1972. This earlier joint decision is no longer relevant in terms of the different security and coordination challenges facing Indonesia in 2006.
