In 2021, the National Agency of Drug and Food Control (Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan– “ BPOM ”) introduced Regulation No. 33 of 2021 (“ Regulation 33/2021 ”) on the Certification of Good Cosmetics Manufacturing Practices (Cara Pembuatan Kosmetika yang Baik– “ CPKB ”). As its title suggests, this framework outlined a wide array of aspects that specifically relate to the certification process for the aforesaid CPKB (“ Certification ”), including the applicable requirements for Certification and the various types of administrative sanctions that can be imposed upon non-compliant cosmetics manufacturers.
