In 2019, the Minister of Finance (“ Minister ”) introduced Regulation No. 216/PMK.04/2019 on the Transit and Transshipment of Imported and Exported Goods (“ Regulation 216/2019 ”), which established a comprehensive set of guidelines governing procedures for the transportation of imported and exported goods through specific transit (diangkut terus) or transshipment (diangkut lanjut) arrangements. Regulation 216/2019, among other areas, specifically addresses entries and exits of imported and exported goods into and from customs areas, as well as the transportation of imported goods to other temporary storage facilities (Tempat Penimbunan Sementara– “ TPS ”).
