In an effort to improve the governance of the forestry sector and to enhance the legal trading of timber, [1] the Minister for the Environment and Forestry (“ Minister ”) recently renewed various provisions relating to performance assessments for sustainable production forest management and timber legality verifications for license holders, as well as relating to the right to manage, private forest and holders of legal permits for the utilization of timber forests, through the issuance of Regulation No. P.21/MENLHK/SETJEN/KUM.1/10/2020 (“ Regulation 21/2020 ”). These areas were previously addressed under Regulation of Minister No. P.30/MENLHK/SETJEN/PHPL.3/3/2016 (“ Regulation 30/2016 ”), however, the issuance of Regulation 21/2020 means that Regulation 30/2016 has now been repealed and replaced.
