The Minister of Agriculture (“ Minister ”) recently issued Regulation No. 53/PERMENTAN/KR.040/12/2018 on the Security and Quality of Plant-Based Fresh Foods (“ Regulation 53/2018 ”) in order to accommodate various new scientific and technological developments within the plant-based fresh foods (Pangan Segar Asal Tumbuhan– “ PSAT ”) business sector. [1] Regulation 53/2018 sets out comprehensive guidelines for the implementation of PSAT security, quality control and supervisory activities.
