Telecommunication and Broadcasting Towers - Establishment Rules

The paramount concerns of this Draft Regulation are the security of the environment and the health of the surrounding communities. Secondary concerns are the efficiency and effectiveness of the development of telecommunications and broadcasting infrastructure. The Draft is the product of the Department of Communication and Information and will be used as a basis for public consultations with stakeholders from 1 - 14 August 2006. The idea for public consultations stems from an earlier initiative of the Department of Communication and Information to standardize telecommunication and broadcast towers (see Depkominfo Press Release No. 80/DJPT.1/KOMINFO/VI/2006 dated 24 June 2006) and the considerable interest that this press release generated among relevant stakeholders.
