Ten Types of SRD Addressed under Draft Decree of Minister of Communication and Informatics

The Minister of Communication and Informatics (“ Minister ”) has previously mandated that certain types of telecommunications equipment and/or devices (“Telecommunications Equipment/Devices”) which are made or assembled in order to be traded and/or used in Indonesia are required to meet certain technical standards . This mandate is set out under Regulation of the Minister No. 2 of 2023 on the Utilization of the Radiofrequency Spectrum Based on Class Licenses (“ Regulation 2/2023 ”) and will apply to the following types of Telecommunications Equipment/Devices: 1) Radio Local Area Networks (RLAN); 2) Low Power Wide Area Networks (LPWAN); 3) Short-Range Devices (“ SRD ”); Class License-Based International Mobile Telecommunications (Class License-Based IMT); and 4) Private Mobile Radio (PMR).
