The 2025 Draft Bill on Criminal Procedural Law: Reshaping Indonesias Criminal Justice System Through Corporate Liability and Restorative Justice

In an effort to ensure that Indonesiancriminal procedural law is fully in line with current global developments in constitutional law, information technology and international conventions, Indonesia’s House of Representatives (Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat– “ DPR ”), working alongside its government counterparts, is currently completing work on the Draft Bill on Criminal Procedural Law (“ Draft Bill ”). [1] If the Draft Bill is ultimately enforced, then this forthcoming framework will ultimately repeal and replace the existing framework ofLaw No. 8 of 1981 , which bears the same title as the Draft Bill (“
