The Movement of Exports and Imports through Indonesian Ports

The President has issued PresidentialDecree No. 22 of 2007on The Coordination Team to Increase the Smooth Movement of Exports and Imports. This is the second amendment of Presidential Decree No. 54 of 2002, which was on the same subject matter. The underlying premise for these amendments is to strengthen Indonesia's economic competitiveness. To this end there clearly a need to develop a port system that is able to optimize ports space and management. Considering, that the responsibility for the optimizing of both space and management of ports is with the Coordination Team, then there is a need to provide the Coordination Team with the necessary mandate so that its activities are integrated, efficient, and effective in order to achieve this objective.
