TNI and Police Roll out Protections for Prosecutors

In an effort to protect prosecutors from any threats, intimidation and pressure from other parties during the carrying out of their duties, the President of Indonesia (“ President ”) has now issued Regulation No. 66 of 2025 on the State Protection of Prosecutors During the Carrying Out of the Duties and Functions of the Indonesian Prosecutor’s Office (“ Regulation 66/2025 ”), which has been in force since 21 May 2025. [1] In essence, Regulation 66/2025 outlines various forms of protection that prosecutors are entitled to receive during the carrying out of their duties and functions in response to any threats that specifically endanger them, their lives and/or their property.
