Following the enforcement of Regulation of the President No. 110 of 2025 (“ Regulation 110/2025 ”) [1] , which is Indonesia’s most recent framework to address the country’s Carbon Economic Value (Nilai Ekonomi Karbon– “ NEK ”) instruments, the Minister of Forestry (“ Minister ”) has issued Regulation No. 6 of 2026 on Procedures for Carbon Trading Through Greenhouse Gas (“ GHG ”) Emissions Offsetting Within the Forestry Sector (“ Regulation 6/2026 ”), which has been in force since 13 April 2026. [2] Upon entering into force, Regulation 6/2026 officially repealed and replaced Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry No. 7 of 2023 on Procedures for Carbon Trading Within the Forestry Sector (“ Regulation 7/2023 ”).
