Updated Guidelines Introduced for WIUP/WIUPK Expansions for Mineral and Coal Conservation Purposes

The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (“ Minister ”) has issued Decree No. 375.K/MB.01/MEM.B/2023 (“ Decree 375/2023 ”), which has been in force since 23 October 2023 and which contains a set of guidelines that specifically address the submission, evaluation and processing of the expansion of Mining Business License Areas (Wilayah Izin Usaha Pertambangan– “ WIUP ”) and Special Mining Business License Areas (Wilayah Izin Usaha Pertambangan Khusus– “ WIUPK ”) for the purposes of mineral and coal conservation.
