Indonesia’s House of Representatives (Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat– “ DPR ”) recently passed the Bill on the Protection of Domestic Workers (Pekerja Rumah Tangga– “ PRT ”) (“ Bill ”) into law during a plenary session that was held on 21 April 2026. [1] The Bill was first proposed to the DPR by the National Advocacy Network for Domestic Workers all the way back in 2004. [2] However, the Bill was ultimately only incorporated into the National Legislative Program (Program Legislasi Nasional/Prolegnas) in 2010, subsequently undergoing various stages of deliberation until its eventual enactment.
