In an attempt to bolster Indonesia’s territorial security and revenue through a more selective approach to the granting of free visit visas, the government has now introduced Regulation of the President No. 95 of 2024 on the Free Visit Visa (“ Regulation 95/2024 ”), which has been in force since 29 August 2024. [1] As a result of the enforcement of Regulation 95/2024, the previous framework to address similar matters, specifically Regulation of the President No. 21 of 2016 (“ Regulation 21/2016 ”), has now been simultaneously repealed and replaced.
