Following the enforcement of Regulation of the Minister of Health (“ Minister ”) No. 3 of 2026 on Disease Control (“ Regulation 3/2026 ”) [1] , which mandates the affixation of nutritional labelling to ready-to-eat processed food products, [2] as well as various efforts aimed at reducing the high prevalence of non-communicable diseases (e.g. obesity, hypertension and stroke), as caused by excessive intakes of sugar, salt and fat (Gula, Garam dan Lemak– “ GGL ”), the Minister has now decided to issue Decree No. HK.01.07/MENKES/301/2026 on the Affixation of Nutritional Labels and Health Information to Ready-to-Eat Processed Food Products (“ Decree 1/2026 ”), which has been in force since 14 April 2026.
