Water Resources Business Permit and Utilization Approval Applications Now Required to Be Submitted Electronically

In 2016, the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (“ Minister ”) set out the applicable procedures for the securing of permits for the commercialization and utilization of water resources through the issuance of Regulation No. 01/PRT/M/2016 on Procedures for Business Licensing for the Management and Utilization of Water-Resources (“ Regulation 1/2016 ”). [1] However, in an effort to further accommodate changes regarding the implementation of water resource management, the Minister has now issued Regulation No. 2 of 2024 on Procedures for the Business Licensing of Water Resources Utilization and Approvals for Water Resources Utilization (“ Regulation 2/2024 ”), which has been in force since 7 February 2023.
