Whistleblowers - Fear Not the Wrath of the Reported

One of the main obstructions, at least from the Government's perspective, to the reporting of illegal activities and corruption has been the complete lack of protections afforded to whistleblowers and victims in the reporting of these matters to the relevant authorities. The recent enactment of the Bill on Witness and Victim Protection will go a long way to alleviating the fear of reporting, particularly as they relate to reprisals from the reported parties. Nevertheless, the proof of the pudding is in the enforcement of the provisions contained within the new Law.
