The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (“ ATR/BPN ”), in conjunction with the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), is accelerating the revision of Regional Regulation (“ Perda ”) on Regional Spatial Planning (Rencana Tata Ruang Wilayah- “ RTRW ”). This measure is undertaken to ensure the protection of Sustainable Food Agricultural Land (Lahan Pertanian Pangan Berkelanjutan- “ LP2B ”) from being converted in ways that are inconsistent with its designated use.
“This Perda on RTRW is aligned within a single delineation, so that going forward there will be clarity regarding which land may and may not be converted,” said Minister of ATR/BPN Nusron Wahid.
Nusron Wahid also urged regional governments to allocate 87 percent of Sustainable Food Agricultural Areas (Kawasan Pertanian Pangan Berkelanjutan- “ KP2B ”) from the total Rice Field Base Land (Lahan Baku Sawah/LBS), in accordance with the target set by the 2025–2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (Rencana Pembangunan Jangka Menengah Nasional/RPJMN). The revision of the Perda on RTRW is targeted to be completed within three months.
