The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (Agraria dan Tata Ruang/Badan Pertanahan Nasional – “ATR/BPN”) has established a special task force to handle land affairs cases. This initiative is intended to reduce the emergence of new cases while at the same time providing legal certainty.
“In order to prevent land affairs cases from recurring and escalating into major conflicts, it is necessary for us to form a special task force to prevent land affairs cases,” said Iljas Tedjo Prijono, Director General of Land Dispute and Conflict Handling (Penanganan Sengketa dan Konflik Pertanahan – “PSKP”).
Iljas explained that the special task force is composed of personnel from the Provincial Offices (Regional Offices) of the National Land Agency and the Regency/City Land Offices, and operates in accordance with Regulation of the Minister of ATR/Head of BPN No. 15 of 2024 on the Prevention of Land Affairs Cases (“Permen ATR/BPN 15/2024”). Specifically, the task force is mandated to receive and process complaints at the regional level.
“Thus, the task force works collaboratively in a single location and is authorized to receive complaints,” Iljas added.
