Baleg Ensured Draft Bill on Cooperatives To be Completed Soon

Legislative Board (Badan Legislasi - “Baleg”) of DPR RI ensured that Draft Bill on Cooperatives (“Cooperative Draft Bill”) will be brought on the upcoming session of the Plenary Session. The Head of DPR RI Baleg, Bob Hasan, explained that the submission is awaiting the next session.

“Yes, the submission is awaiting the next session,” said Bob Hasan to Hukumonline.

This Draft Bill is an amendment to Law No. 25 of 1992 on Cooperatives (“Cooperative Law”) One of the key points of this Draft Bill is the expansion of cooperatives in carrying out their businesses.

Referring to the Cooperative Draft Bill document obtained by Hukumonline, the expansion is set out in the addition of article 43B. The article stipulates classification of cooperative based on its business type and scale. Business type of cooperative will soon be adjusted to the Indonesian Standard Industrial Classification (Klasifikasi Baku Lapangan Usaha Indonesia/KBLI), while the business scale will follow the category of small-, medium-, and large-scale enterprise.
