Bappenas Prepares Regulations for National Car Funding

The Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (“PPN/Bappenas”) is currently reviewing regulatory requirements to support the implementation of the national car project (“Mobnas”), which is President Prabowo's mandate.

Head of the Legal Bureau of PPN/Bappenas, Ari Prasetyo, explained that his office is currently awaiting confirmation of the Mobnas project's designation as a National Strategic Project (“PSN”), which will be regulated by specific regulations. "When the national car is approved to become a PSN, we will need to prepare the relevant regulations," Ari told Hukumonline.

If the project is officially designated as a PSN, one aspect that Bappenas needs to prepare is the provision of funding facilities for the Mobnas project. In addition, the regulations that are drafted will serve as planning guidelines for the relevant ministries/institutions in the implementation of the program.

The process of drafting these planning regulations will involve a number of ministries and agencies, such as the Ministry of Industry, the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, and the Ministry of Trade.
