The Social Security Organizing Agency (BPJS) for Employment is considering expanding its non-domestic investments in the future, as the growth of its investment funds is projected to outpace the growth of the domestic market.
"We have to consider both potential gains and risks. Diversifying risk is one approach. After all, almost all pension funds in a country are allowed to invest abroad," said Anggoro Eko Cahyo, President Director of BPJS for Employment, to Hukumonline.
This investment expansion could potentially target foreign projects. “In fact, many pension funds are invested in Indonesia, and there are also many good and sound projects abroad. However, there are currently no regulations governing this,” he added.
