The Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (“BPOM”) is opening up the option to implement a zero-rupiah fee for Export Certificates (Surat Keterangan Ekspor – “SKE”) for businesses exporting natural medicinal products, supplements, and cosmetics.
"The Head of BPOM has submitted a proposal to waive the fee, bringing it down to zero rupiah," said the Director of Cosmetics Supervision, I Gusti Ngurah Bagus Kusuma Dewa.
Currently, the tariff for issuing the document still refers to the applicable Non-Tax State Revenue (Penerimaan Negara Bukan Pajak – “PNBP”) regulations, which is set at Rp50,000 per item. Bagus emphasized that this proposal aims to boost the competitiveness of Indonesian products in the global arena.
BPOM assesses that although the current fee is already quite low, a well-targeted waiver option is expected to serve as an additional stimulus for the business sector. The implementation of this discourse is still pending the synchronization of PNBP regulations at the central government level.
