BPS to Finalize KBLI 2025

Central Bureau of Statistics (“BPS”) is nearing completion of the revision of Regulation of BPS No. 2 of 2020 (“Regulation 2/2020”) on the Indonesian Standard Industrial Classification (“KBLI”). Head of BPS, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti confirmed that the revision process for the regulation will soon be regulated in Regulation of BPS on KBLI 2025.

“The drafting of KBLI is final. It will soon be stipulated through Regulation of BPS,” Amalia told Hukumonline.

According to Amalia, the drafting process only leaves KBLI in several Ministries/Institutions, one of which is regarding green economic activities by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (“ESDM”). Meanwhile, for other ministries/institutions, Amalia confirmed that the proposed new economic activity codes have been agreed upon in KBLI 2025.

In addition to incorporating a number of new economic activities and optimizing existing business field codes, the 2025 KBLI also adopts the fifth revision of the International Standard Industrial Classification of All Economic Activities (“ISIC”). According to Amalia, improvements were also made through the splitting or merging of existing economic activity codes.
