The government is finalizing the Draft Regulation of the Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment (“Minister”) on Public Information Service Standards within the Coordinating Ministry for Community Empowerment (“Ministry”). Through this regulation, the public will be able to access transparent, up-to-date, and high-quality public information services.
“Public information transparency is the foundation of democratic governance. Through this regulation, we aim to establish clearer and measurable standards for information management within the Ministry,” said Waliyadin, Director of Harmonization of Laws and Regulations II at the Directorate-General of Laws and Regulations in the Ministry of Law, to Hukumonline.
This Draft Regulation of the Minister is drafted as a follow-up to the mandate of Law No. 14 of 2008 on Public Information Disclosure (“Law 14/2008”), while also taking into account advancements in information technology in providing public access. The substance of the regulation covers the institutional management of information and documentation, information classification, service standards, as well as reporting, monitoring, and evaluation mechanisms.
"We are currently harmonizing it; this is the fourth meeting," he added.
