The Legislative Body (“Baleg”) of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (“DPR RI”) is finalizing the drafting of the Indonesia One Data Draft Bill (“SDI RUU”). This regulation is intended to improve the data recording system to ensure centralization.
“Without accurate data, policies that are formulated may lose direction and fail to achieve their intended targets,” stated Bob Hasan, Chairman of Baleg of the DPR RI.
Through this regulation, all policies, including budgeting under the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (Anggaran Pendapatan dan Belanja Negara/APBN) and Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (Anggaran Pendapatan dan Belanja Daerah/APBD), will be based on a single, up-to-date, integrated, and accountable data source. Although Presidential Regulation No. 39 of 2019 (“Perpres 39/2019”) concerning Indonesia One Data (Satu Data Indonesia – “SDI”) is already in place, strengthening the regulatory framework at the statutory level is deemed necessary to ensure more effective data integration across institutions.
