The Government is currently drafting amendment to Regulation of the Government No. 21 of 2021 on the Organization of Spatial Planning (“ PP 21/2021 ”) in order to update the Spatial Planning concept (Rencana Tata Ruang- “ RTR ”) and reduce the potential for conflicts.
“The draft amendment to PP 21/2021 focus more on the business processes of spatial planning, so that spatial plans can better guide the optimal use of land within these limited areas,” said Djuang Fadjar Sodikin, Deputy Assistant for Spatial Planning and Agrarian Management, to Hukumonline.
The provisions currently undergoing harmonization regulate spatial planning, land use, and the control of land utilization. This includes strengthening the implementation of digital standards for maps and spatial planning documents so that the public and business actors can access information on land-use compliance more quickly and transparently.
